Solving a problem

Standard travel insurance policies do not provide cover if you are travelling for the purpose of obtaining medical treatment. While there are some specific policies that will provide some protection for additional travel/accommodation costs they do not cover medical costs arising from complications. Who is eligible?

FREE SPIRIT Travel for Treatment insurance is available to UK or Channel Island nationals up to age 74 who are registered with a Medical Practitioner in the European Economic Area (the European Union plus Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway) or the Channel Islands.

For example a UK national living in France would be eligible to take out cover.

Hospitals and Clinics covered
The policy covers treatment in a hospital, clinic or surgery which is recognised, registered and regulated by the relevant local government health authority or its equivalent body.

FREE SPIRIT Travel for Treatment insurance is underwritten by AXA Insurance UK plc except for BONDPLUS (Financial Failure) which is underwritten by IGI Insurance Company Limited.
