Heather Walmsley is a Banting Fellow in Sociology at the University of British Columbia, researching outbound Canadian reproductive tourism, funded by the Social Science and Humanities Research Council of Canada. Heather has a PhD from Lancaster University (UK) and has published in numerous peer-journals. She has worked as a writer, editor, and public engagement consultant for organizations including Mayo Clinic, Public Health Agency of Canada, Genome BC, PLAN, UK Institute of Development Studies, Greenpeace UK, and The Independent newspaper.
