In Dubai healthcare is public (government-owned) and private. There is a huge range of healthcare facilities, mostly in the state owned Dubai Healthcare City. The quality of health care in Dubai is generally high and equal to that in Western Europe and the USA.
Medical tourism numbers out
5,000 to 10,000 people leave Dubai every year for treatment in other countries.
Medical tourism promotion
The DHA ‘Be Beautiful in Dubai’ campaign is a direct promotion of the emirate’s cosmetic surgery sector, which the DHA says is growing by 12 to 15 % each year. Cosmetic surgery tourism packages offered by Dubai include visa, accommodation and insurance although not the cost of the actual procedure.
