The total number of medical tourists, including restricted and non-restricted nationalities, for the first eight months of 2019 was 160,000 patients. The remaining four months tends to get fewer patients but increased numbers from restricted countries may balance this. The Ministry of Tourism is working to develop clear marketing policies for tourism and medical tourism in Jordan and then ways to implement and follow to direct patients to private hospitals, and to have a system to classify private hospitals and to provide credibility and transparency.
