In 2015, foreign patients spent some EUR 340 million on medical care in Poland, according to the Polish Association of Medical Tourism.

The total has doubled since 2011, when the overall value of medical tourism revenue was estimated at EUR 177 million.

Patients travelling from abroad each spend up to EUR 17,000 on medical procedures in private clinics, says the association’s data.

Medical tourists mostly come from Britain, Germany and the Scandinavian countries. The Polish Association of Medical Tourism indicates that a few medical tourists travel to the country from the USA and Canada.
