Expansion plans for London clinics and hospitals

Increased numbers of overseas patients from China and the Middle East sees new clinics and hospitals opening in London.

To cater to UK demand and increased numbers of overseas patients from China and the Middle East, several UK and overseas groups are building new clinics and hospitals, mostly in London.

Cleveland Clinic has confirmed Westminster City Council’s decision to grant planning permission for the conversion of 33 Grosvenor Place into an advanced healthcare facility, its first in London. The office block near to Buckingham Palace will become a 205-bed hospital with eight operating theatres.

UK group, Spire Healthcare, wants to build a new hospital in Central London. Spire Nottingham Hospital, next to the Nottingham City Airport in Tollerton, and Spire Manchester Hospital in Didsbury both opened in 2017.

German clinic group, Schoen, plan to open a London clinic in 2018 while an Abu Dhabi group is planning a cancer hospital in Chiswick. Hospital group Circle Holdings has set up a joint company with Advanced Oncotherapy to run a proton beam cancer therapy unit in Harley Street, London.
