According to Ladepeche.fr, medical travel specialist France Surgery has launched a partnership with Air France to offer reduce air fares to inbound medical travellers. Patients mainly come to France seeking treatments in oncology, orthopedics, cardiovascular diseases and health checks.
France Surgery is a collaborative telemedicine platform that connects foreign patients to French health professionals. The platform makes it possible for international patients to make contact with 1,500 specialists and 120 public or private health establishments in France. It is most frequently used for oncology, orthopedics, cardiovascular diseases and health checks, and patients come mainly from Africa, Eastern Europe, Russia and the Middle East.
The Air France partnership will enable France Surgery to offer patients wishing to come to France medical care for reduced prices for their plane tickets. A series of services to accompany the patient from door-to-door will be offered with support at the airport, the use of a wheelchair, etc. The article quotes Carine Briat-Hilaire, the head of France Surgery, “All Air France aircraft are medicalised which allows the company to enhance this new medical offer”.
Founded in 2012, France Surgery has achieved €300,000 in revenue in 2018, and supported 200 patients. Their target is to support 400 in 2020, and they are organising a funding round later in the year to raise €1m to finance this growth.
France Surgery is already in partnership with Axa, which allows the insurer to propose to the 40,000 members of the French Foreign Union (UFE) the creation of a secure account on France Surgery.
