New fertility services in Georgia will lead to fewer Georgians going overseas for IVF treatment.
Georgia Healthcare, the market leader in private healthcare in the country, has launched IVF services in Georgia at Caraps Medline. Caraps Medline in Tbilisi is an up-scale boutique hospital specialising in gynaecology and cosmetic surgery services.
The monthly capacity of the department is 150 patients. The IVF service was set up by an embryologist from Turkey, who trained the local team.
IVF services are undeveloped in Georgia, and Georgians generally have to travel abroad for this service. The immediate goal is to retain those patients that are currently travelling abroad.
Nikoloz Gamkrelidze of Georgia Healthcare says, “This project is in line with our declared strategy of filling existing healthcare service gaps in Georgia. The IVF service will also support our goal of primarily reversing outbound medical tourism and also, over time, attracting patients from neighbouring countries.”
