International recognition

Baneasa Hospital in Bucharest is the first hospital in Romania to achieve international JCI accreditation.

The hospital is part of the local Regina Maria private health network. Regina Maria is one of the largest private health companies in Romania. It operates 21 clinics, 4 hospitals, 2 maternity clinics, 3 medical campuses, 7 laboratories and its own stem cell bank. The company is controlled by American private equity fund Advent, which is looking to sell the business.

Fady Chreih of Regina Maria says, "Our mission to put patient safety first and international recognition is part of this. We intend to extend this to our whole network."
