Accreditation Canada has more than 1,000 clients at over 7,000 sites in 25 countries. Following the recent integration of Accreditation Canada International and Accreditation Canada, the new role of executive director, international accreditation has been created to play a key role in the growth of the global business, which is an important strategic priority for the organization. Nobody has yet been appointed to the new role.

Accreditation Canada’s intent is to be at the forefront of global change and to set the pace in the industry around patient partnerships, stakeholder engagement and co-creation, cutting edge technology, market and clinical intelligence/analysis, and health system impact measurement.

With 909 accredited organizations in 65 countries, Joint Commission International has joined forces with thousands of health care leaders and clinicians across the globe to improve patient safety and support the advancement of health care quality improvement. In 2016 four new countries joined the JCI global community: Azerbaijan, Macedonia, Mongolia, and Tanzania. Since 1999 hundreds of organizations have earned JCI accreditation.

Acreditas Global is the international accreditation arm of AAAHC, the leader in ambulatory accreditation across the United States. The Acreditas Global team has been promoting accreditation internationally since 2010. It has now accredited 5 clinics in Peru, 5 in Costa Rica, 3 in Guatemala, 2 in in Honduras and one in Colombia. Other countries in South and Central America will follow. GrupoDent, a dental facility in Guatemala City, Guatemala is the most recent organization to receive accreditation from Acreditas Global.

American Association for Accreditation for Ambulatory Surgery Facilities International (AAAASFI) has developed a global programme to inspect and accredit surgery, physical therapy and dental clinics.

AAAASFI offers several national and international accreditations on patient safety - where 2400 hospitals and clinics in the USA are accredited plus 2 dental clinics in Costa Rica, and one of the latest one, a clinic in the Virgin Islands.
