Launch of medical tourism chat application

American medical tourism agency PlacidWay has launched what it claims to be the first international patient-provider direct chat application in the medical travel industry.

PlacidWay has introduced an online service where patients can talk direct to hospitals and doctors, with the aim of reducing the communication gap between medical centres and international patients. The application offers real-time interaction, which means patients can find answers to their queries immediately without delay.

The app should strengthen relationships with patients. Providers will be able to build trust among the patients, which can create positive word of mouth business.

The application can save the data of any interaction between the patients and the provider and live chat can help providers to understand what exactly the patient needs.

Pramod Goel of PlacidWay says “Direct patient communication is a key ingredient to fuel the growth of a stagnant industry. Instant messaging is part of our multi-channel communications platform that sparks conversations. This includes SMS/texting, online chat, phone, as well as email and video. Once these are integrated into patient acquisition business processes, it will bring transparency and ethics in the medical tourism business, which will instil trust among all.”

PlacidWay suggests that medical tourism industry is bogged down in current processes that are long and constraining, and must adapt to new realities of consumer behaviour. The new medical tourism world demands transparency, ethics, speed, accuracy and other such elements to understand customers changing needs and to deliver a customised solution.
