Major new campaign to attract medical tourists to Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi launches a global marketing campaign later this year to establish the city as a medical tourism destination. Highlighted areas include open-heart surgery and cancer treatment.

A partnership between the Department of Health and the Department of Culture and Tourism will launch a global marketing campaign to establish the city as a medical tourism destination. The campaign will highlight specific areas of medical excellence including open-heart surgery and cancer treatment. There will also be packages including discounts on attractions.

Abu Dhabi seeks to promote itself as a visitor destination for leisure activities, cruising, conventions and conferences. It has seen growing numbers of tourists, particularly from China and Russia, as well as traditional markets India, Germany, USA and the UK.
