New hospital in Amman to serve medical tourists

According to Roya News, Abdali Medical Center, a new multi-specialty hospital in Amman, Jordan is ready to open in July, 2019 and will serve the country’s medical tourism sector.

Abdali Medical Center will provide services across the continuum of care, from diagnosis to treatment and rehabilitation, under one roof.

The article claims the centre will make a significant contribution to the Jordanian healthcare sector. It will apparently create over 1,200 jobs, 50% of which will be female employees. The hospital is also intended to serve Jordan’s medical tourism industry.

Earlier this year Jordan’s President of the Private Hospitals Association, was reported as saying there are challenges for the Jordan’s medical tourism sector in visa obtainment, regional competition, debts and high operating costs for hospitals.
