Plan to build medical tourism to Goa

According to The Times of India, India’s Health Minister, Vishwajit Rane has said the state government will work with private companies to develop Goa’s healthcare sector and boost medical tourism.  The article says a number of foreign tourists to the region also have dental treatment while there.

There is a line-up of dental clinics in the Candolim-Calangute coastal belt that reflect this increasing interest in dental tourism.

However, the Health Minister also said that Goa is missing out on medical tourism as it has failed to attract patients from abroad.  He was speaking at the inauguration of the Healthway Hospital, a facility started by 50 private doctors from Goa.
