Promoting thermal tourism in Azerbaijan

The Tourism Association and Wellness & Thermal Tourism Association signed a memo on long-term associate membership.

The Azerbaijan Tourism Association (AzTa) and the Association of Wellness & Thermal Tourism (ASTTDA) have agreed to work closely together to develop tourism, coordinate cooperation between tourism companies, and promote the capacity of thermal tourism outside of the country.

The deal was brokered by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism as it sees great potential in attracting foreign tourists to local thermal tourism and attracting new investors.

There are many health resorts and spas in the country, and while some are modern, others are not up to the standards of European competitors; so the government is looking at ways to monitor and increase quality.
