Proposal For Medical Tourism Zone In Issyk-kul

A new bill is proposing a medical tourism zone around the Issyk-Kul lake, in eastern Kyrgyzstan.

Most Kyrgyzstanis go to Russia, South Korea, Turkey, or Israel to get medical treatment.

Central Asia is home to 70 million people and Issyk-Kul could be a good location for medical tourism. It would help Issyk-Kul diversify away from a reliance on beach tourism. 390 out of 396 existing resorts are not open all year round. Only 6 are open all year round.

The MP proposing the bill suggests giving support to resorts to develop medical tourism.
