Ruslan Guliyev elected president of the Global Healthcare Travel Council

Ruslan Guliyev, president of the Azerbaijan Health and Thermal Tourism Support Association (AHTTSA), has been elected president of the Global Healthcare Travel Council.

AHTTSA was set up in 2013 by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism to help develop health and thermal tourism in the country.

GHTC was launched in 2013 and is based in Istanbul. GHTC is a non-profit organisation dedicated to the promotion and delivery of healthcare services and a platform for national medical and medical travel councils. It has 27 member countries.

It is responsible for providing leadership on global healthcare travel matters, shaping the healthcare research agenda, setting norms, standards and ethics, articulating evidence-based policy options, providing technical support to countries and monitoring and assessing healthcare travel trends.
