Sri Lanka is safe, but no visits allowed

The global safety and hygiene stamp was launched by the WTTC to allow potential travellers to identify places and companies that have adopted standardised health and hygiene protocols.

It is expected that new safety measures will provide consistency and guidance to travellers on a new approach to health, hygiene, deep cleansing and physical distancing.

The tourism industry in Sri Lanka has come to standstill as a result of the pandemic.

Asiri Surgical and Medical Hospitals in Colombo and Asiri Hospitals Galle, and Matara, were also recently awarded accreditation by the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards International (ACHSI).
