The updated app from doctor on-demand provider ZoomDoc allows patients to book face-to-face GP appointments in addition to its virtual consultations. ZoomDoc says it is the first healthcare provider in Britain to offer physical and virtual appointments with a UK doctor as a 24/7 service, accessible via smartphone worldwide.
Much like an Uber taxi, users can see how many GPs are available in their areas through a map in the ZoomDoc app and can review the service they’ve received.
Online appointments start from £35 while a home visit costs a minimum of £125.
ZoomDoc founder and chief executive Dr Kenny Livingstone said: ‘The new app is tailored to the varying needs of the patient. We are now the only service to offer comprehensive support whether by video, phone or face to face consultations.’
