Updated Temos standards for medical tourism

Temos International Healthcare Accreditation has updated standards for medical tourism and dental tourism.

All organisations applying for Temos accreditation or re-accreditation after December 1, 2020 must use Version 2.0 on:

• Quality in International Patient Care for hospitals.
• Quality in International Patient Care for primary care, day surgery centres and diagnostic centres.
• Excellence in Medical Tourism, for hospitals.

The updates include 22 new standards addressing infection control, hygiene and prevention, antibiotic stewardship, telemedicine services, information technology management, and security, as well as nuclear medicine and radiation therapy services.

All organisations applying for accreditation or re-accreditation after February 1, 2021 must use Version 2.0 on:

• Excellence in Dental Tourism – for dental hospitals.
• Excellence in Dental Tourism – for dental clinics and practices.
• Quality in International Dental Care – for dental hospitals.
• Quality in International Dental Care – for dental clinics and practices.

The updates include 17 new standards addressing infection control, hygiene and prevention, telemedicine services, information technology management and security.
