US TV channel produces medical travel series

The US TV channel CNN International Television has a new series: “The New World of Medical Tourism”. It showcases stories about where international patients can find quality healthcare, as more patients explore cost-effective ways to spend healthcare dollars overseas. Although targeted at American patients the programmes will be shown globally.

One featured organisation is EVEX Medical Corporation, which owns and operates a chain of hospitals in Georgia.

Other featured hospitals include Gleneagles in Singapore and Bumrungrad International in Thailand. Dental clinics are highlighted as well.

The programmes include special features and stories wellness spas and retreats helping customers learn what physical healing, spiritual healing, and cuisine and art experience options are available to them as well.

The New World of Medical Tourism covers 11 holistic wellness retreat destinations around the world, with offerings from TED-style talks to ancient shamanic rituals, designed to help people relax, heal and get inspired, including Cala De Mar in Ixtapa Zihuantanejo, Mexico and Santani in Dumbara Sri Lanka.
