Zambia President says medical tourism has huge potential

According to the Zambian Daily Mail, President Lungu has recently said medical tourism has huge potential to enhance health care, staff development and training as well as research in Zambia.

He was commissioning the newly constructed Coptic Orthodox Hospital, and urged the Ministry of Health and other Zambian institutions to explore the opportunity of medical tourism together.

The article also highlights the Cancer Diseases Hospital (CDC) in Lusaka as a flagship institution in positioning Zambia for medical tourism. CDC, the article says, is among the few cancer diseases hospitals in the region which have the expertise and services.
