Based in the Athenian suburb of Peristeri, Dialysis Athens works with nearby hotels and tourism services to provide dialysis patients with the opportunity to enjoy a relaxing and stress free holiday in Athens and its surrounding areas.
Dialysis Athens is an independent department of West Athens Clinic, offering high-end dialysis services and state-of-the-art facilities to both local patients and medical tourists. The unit aims at an integrated approach to nephrological rehabilitation, treating those with chronic renal insufficiency who need an Artificial Kidney Service and dealing with the timely prevention and treatment of diseases affecting the kidney.
Two methods of dialysis are available: hemodialysis (HD) and hemodiafiltration (HDF).
Dialysis sessions are priced at 350€ each. This price is flexible depending on the number of days that the patient is staying in Athens.
Other services available at Dialysis Athens include a ‘Flying Nurse’ service, whereby patients can choose to be accompanied by a nurse on their journey to and from Greece, and private ambulance clinic/hotel transfers.
Greek, English, French and Italian are spoken at the clinic.
Patients visiting Dialysis Athens have access to an extensive range of support services at West Athens Clinic, which is contracted by the Greek National Health Service. These include in-house diagnostics, 14 hospital beds and 3 back up in the Artificial Kidney Unit, 60 general hospital beds, 15 specialist in-house doctors and surgeons, 150 external doctors, 70 nurses and paramedics, 3 fully equipped operating theatres and two ambulances.
Specialties covered by West Athens Clinic include urology, nephrology, surgery, cardiology, gastroenterology and pathology. External associates are available in the fields of haematology, endocrinology, hormonology, oncology, pulmonology, ophthalmology, otorhinolaryngology, vascular surgery and plastic surgery.
Dialysis Athens partners with four hotels in central Athens to offer exclusive prices on one-, two-, or three-week holidays: Hotel Novus City, Hotel Stanley, Hotel Titania and Hotel Wyndham Grand.
