Founded in 1884, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York is the world’s oldest and largest private cancer centre, internationally regarded as a leader in patient care, research and educational programmes for future physicians and scientists.

Facilities at MSK include 473 inpatient beds, a 72,000-square-foot surgical centre and a state-of-the-art treatment hub for outpatient procedures. MSK is also recognised for excellence in oncology nursing. Its textbook on nursing oncology published in 1986, established the original standards of care in the field and paved the way for specialised oncology training for nurses throughout the USA.
