The British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS) estimates that 20,000 people travel abroad annually for cosmetic surgery. Surgery carried out abroad includes breast augmentation, tummy tucks and facelifts. They do not say where they get the figure from.

The government has never shown the slightest interest in promoting business that brings millions into the UK.
